AN EXTENSION OF CITYJSON TO SUPPORT POINT CLOUDS

Abstract. The combination between dense point clouds and 3D vector objects permits new cartographic representation of urban information. This paper proposes an extension for the CityJSON encoding to support clouds. Following 3.0 CityGML specifications, attributes features are added core module v1.0.1 CityJSON. Two solutions proposed: inline complex geometries external link a remote file. extended schema can be illustrated in four scenarios: detailed visualization, fall-back solution reconstruction processes, simulating climate represented as fields, true-to-life elements such solitary vegetation objects.
